About Me
The Photograph
Unspoken words
That lie within
the beauty of a photograph

A glimpse
at self-reflection

The simple truth
Of a moment in time
Captured by ones eye.

Does it carry any meaning?
Or just to that of its taker?

~Rose Martin

I was born in 1958 in Cambridge, Massachusettes. I grew up in Arlington, twenty miles northwest of Boston. I had three brothers and a sister. My father was a chemical engineer and loved photography. He gave me my first camera for a high school graduation present. That summer my boyfriend taught me f-stops and shutter speeds at lunch one day in a cafe in Harvard Square. I was hooked. We took a night class at a local highschool but that wasn't enough. I wanted to learn more. I studied at The New England School of Photography in Kenmore Square in Boston.
I was married at 29 and had two beautiful children. After turning fifty I went back to school for graphic design and earned a degree. I still reside in Arlington, my hometown and heartfelt community.
My hopes are to further my skills with graphic and web design while continueing with photography.
